BRAD’S BIOGRAPHY.
Brad Chambers has felt the struggles of working folks firsthand and witnessed the failure of our elected officials to address them.
Brad’s mother, Michelle, a hardworking single mom, often worked multiple jobs and long hours to provide for their family. As the oldest of three brothers, Brad was often left in charge of his siblings and earned a sense of duty and responsibility from a very young age.
Brad Chambers understands the urgent and pervasive challenges we face in Pennsylvania because he’s grappled with them in his own life.
After graduating from high school, Brad earned a Bachelor’s degree from Millersville University. However, even with a college education, Brad faced challenges finding work in a depleted job market and subsequently found himself unable to afford a place to live or a visit to the doctor.
With the support of family and friends, as well as determination, hustle, a bit of luck, and helpful state programs, Brad was able to land on his feet, find a good job, and eventually became a homeowner in Columbia, PA.
But Brad Chambers understands that many in Lancaster County struggle to find affordable housing for years, often leading to prolonged instability that prevents those families from thriving.
Brad currently works in labor administration, connecting directly with working folks and witnessing the challenges we face in today’s economy day in and day out.
Brad Chambers is running to represent us in the State House to address the very issues he, his loved ones, and his community have faced and continue to face every day in Lancaster County.
His vision is the Pennsylvania we deserve; one where no one has to wonder if they’re going to have a roof over their head, if they can afford their medication, or if their children will have the tools they need to succeed.
That’s what Brad means when he says that Pennsylvania should work for all of us.
WHO IS BRAD?
Brad Chambers supports quality housing that Lancaster County families can actually afford. In the Pennsylvania House of Representatives, Brad will expand support for the Whole Home Repairs program, increase funding for affordable housing non-profits focused on both building and financing for first-time homebuyers and low-to-middle income families, such as the PHARE program, and fight for better enforcement of laws designed to safeguard tenants’ rights, prevent unjust evictions, and protect tenants from negligent or predatory landlords.
Brad Chambers supports single-payer healthcare for PA & lower insurance & prescription costs. Brad will advocate for a single-payer system that will lower healthcare expenses AND reduce the burden on small businesses to make up for crippling costs, fight ANY attempt to take healthcare choices out of the hands of individual Pennsylvanians and put them into the hands of lawmakers, and work to form a prescription drug review board to push for lower drug prices on behalf of all Pennsylvanians.
Brad Chambers supports fair funding for our public schools & lower property taxes for homeowners. Brad will reduce reliance on property taxes by correcting the funding disparity that currently allows Pennsylvania to pay 10% less into K-12 education than other states, evaluate the Basic Education Funding formula to make sure public schools in the 41st and all of Lancaster County get their fair share, and secure funding for expanded trade and vocational training programs in Lancaster County.
Brad Chambers opposes putting data centers on the taxpayers’ dime without their consent. Brad will vote to make data centers pay their own bills, and has spoken out against data center plans in both Hempfield and Columbia. Brad will always stand up for working Pennsylvanians against big corporations and politicians in Harrisburg who care more about corporate profits than they do about you.
WHO IS BRETT MILLER?
Brett Miller voted to drain more than $7 million per year from our local schools, instead sending it to unaccountable cyber and charter schools and forcing us to make up the difference with property taxes. All the while, Brett’s accepted thousands of dollars in donations from a dark money group funded by a “school choice” billionaire that personally benefits from this type of tax credit.
Brett Miller raked in nearly $1.5 million in taxpayer dollars but voted against raising Pennsylvania’s minimum wage three different times and voted to make it harder for Pennsylvanians to pay off their medical debt.
Brett Miller voted against Lebre’s Law which would make torturing an animal a felony. We deserve a State Representative who cares about Lancaster’s livestock and animals.
Brett Miller voted against regulating data centers and protecting Pennsylvanians from electricity rate hikes. Some of Brett Miller’s biggest funders are the same utility companies sticking us with higher and higher bills.
Brett Miller signed onto a document challenging the results of the 2020 Presidential election in Pennsylvania. He doesn’t care about our votes, so why should he deserve ours?
Brett Miller introduced a six week abortion ban in the past, weeks before two thirds of women typically learn of their pregnancy and has repeatedly voted to ban or restrict abortion, including adding an abortion ban to Pennsylvania’s constitution with no exceptions for the safety of the mother, rape or incest. He even opened the door to allow the prosecution and jailing of women and their doctors who perform abortions.
